Gabrella Benson was born on February 9, 1947, to the union of the late Benjamin and Rose Mae Benson in Montgomery, Alabama. Gabrella dedicated her life to Christ at an early age at Maggie Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Isaac L. Forbes. Gabrella later joined People’s Baptist Missionary Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Paul L. Boswell where she served as a faithful member of The Daisy Jefferson Usher Board and Missionary Society. Gabrella was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star- Prince Hall. Gabrella worked for over three decades as a dedicated Treatment Nurse at Alabama Masonic Home in Montgomery, AL.

Gabrella Benson departed life on Friday, October 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shermanitta Benson; brother, Willie Benson.

She leaves to cherish two loving and devoted daughters Rosetta Benson and Sharon Orum; grandson, Justin Orum; of Montgomery, AL; one loving extended son Thomas (Serena) Campbell of Sandy Springs, GA; one sister, Jannie Rose Benson; one brother, Bobby (Rose) Benson; nieces, Valerie Benson, Shanta (Willie Rieves) Benson; both of Montgomery, AL; great-nieces, Charniece Benson (Columbus, GA), Curlese Benson (Atlanta, GA), Desher Benson; great-nephews, Courtney Benson (God-Son), Chauncey Benson; cousins, Pearlie (the late Herman) Foxx, Jessie Mae Williams, Rufus (Bettie) Davis, Melissa P. (Shellie) Davis, Mary Hellen P. Ingram, Anne (the late Joe) Pickett, Amanda (the late Lorenzo) Patrick, Alfonso Patrick; all of Montgomery, AL; and Willie (Sharon) Davis of Los Angeles, CA.
