Obituary for Sallie Foster Washington Cotton
To this world she was Mrs. Sallie Cotton. To her family she was a lovely mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and cousin. To others, she was Mrs. Pretty, Mrs. Sal or Sister Cotton. And so her legacy and story unfolds.
Sallie Foster Washington Cotton was born January 15, 1933 to the late Sallie Foster and Dozier Foster. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined North Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.L. Newton and there she served as a faithful member of the choir, mother’s board, and President of Mission until her health failed her at Jackson Hospital on February 22, 2018.
Proceeding her in death were her sisters, Emily Rivers, Sopie Tell, Usher Mae, Rosia Tellis, brothers, Prince Foster, Floyd Foster, and Jimmy Dawson, son, Sandy Kimbrough Jr. and 3 gradnsons, Dequan Washingtonm, Sandy Kimbrough III, and Johnny Foster Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Delquiency Little of Michigan, Elizabeth Washington, Shirley Washington, and Janice Washington all of Montgomery, AL. Four sons, Johnny Foster, Kenneth (Patricia) Washington of Montgomery, AL. Donald (Diane) Washington, Atmore, AL. and Ronald Washington of GA. sister, Annette McCain of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandaughters, Jaquella Washington, Charlotte Washington, Christal (Antonio) Rogers, Litasha Washingtonm, Lakenya Washington and Shuntae Savage all of Montgomery, AL. Kertina Kimbrough and Sarah Little both of Michigan. Shundrika (Nectesshe) Draw, Nevaeh Washington and Ikaria Washington all of GA. 8 grandsons, Christopher Washington, Cody Washington, Marquis Washington, Matthew Washington, Lamar Foster and Lidono Foster all of Montgomery, AL. Ronald Washington Jr. of GA. and Smith Kimbrough of Michigan. 26 great grands, 3 great great grands, 2 special and devoted friends, Mrs. Lilly Hopper and Linda Caldwell and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
