Obituary for Gwen Britt
Master Sergent Gwen Britt, was born to the late George Britt and Willie Mae Britt in Pensacola, FL on November 1, 1946.
He is a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School of Pensacola, FL. He joined the United States Air Force immediatley after high school and faithfully served his country for 26 years before retiring. While serving in the Air Force, Gwen received several decorations, medals and badges, citations and campaign ribbons. He also completed several educational courses which lead him to receiving a BS Degree in Criminal Justice from Alabama State University, after retiring from the US Air Force. Later in life he joined Ridgeville Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Betty Britt, children, Col. Kerry D. Britt (Coretta) of Springfield, Virginia; Anthony L. Britt (Tamika), Darrell H. Britt (Courtney) of Montgomery; granddaughters, Jordan Britt, Danielle Taylor, grandsons, Jalen D. Britt, Joshua A. Britt, Cameron Taylor, Jaden Taylor, sisters, Pastor Jacqueline Britt, Minister Starletta Britt, Marion O. Wright (Michael), Carmenita C. Britt, Melissa M. Purifoy (Richard) and Anita Cosby (Ira), brothers, Dea. Clarence Britt (Gail), George Britt Jr., and Walter James Britt all of Pensacola, FL; mother-in-law, Lillie B. Savage, sisters-in-law, Mary Robinson, Lena Lewis (Billy), Beverly Daniels (Harold), brothers-in-law, Sam Lewis, Jimmy Lewis (Minnie), special friend, Albert Russell, and a host of neices, nephews and other relatives and friends.
