Dorothy Ruth Clayton Henderson was born to the late Lee Clayton and the late Georgia Mae Clayton on January 21, 1948. She received Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. She met and married the late Johnny Lee Henderson.
Dorothy was a certified nursing assistant at South Haven Manor and Rehabilitation for several years. She was also a devoted friend and inspiring to many but was well known for her love of the Lord as well as her since of humor.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; James Clayton and Albert Clayton.
She leaves to cherish her memories; four children James Clayton of Indianapolis, IN, Willie Surry, Veronica Wilson, and Floyd (Tammy) Upshaw all of Montgomery, AL, three brothers; Johnny Lee Clayton, Earnest (Evelyn) Clayton, Joshua (Betty) Smedley all of New Haven, CT, four sisters: Susie Mae (Jimmy) Cleaveland, Patricia Ann (Jessie) Madison both of Montgomery, AL, Mary Annette (Lawrence) Campbell of College Park, GA, and Tanginika (Ronald) Beasley of New Orleans, LA, Sister-in-law; Thomasene Marshall of Montgomery, AL, grandchildren Vertwon Upshow, Salathia Wilson, John Wilson, Shaquille Upshaw, Shayla Giles, Paris Clayton, Jaiquarious Jones, Jaimarious Henderson, Sequita Spidell, Gemeteyia Davis, Jordan Davis. And a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and very devoted friends.
