Born on May 16, 1945 in Montgomery, AL, Vera was born the fifth child to the late Andrew and Manola Thomas. She answered God’s call and transitioned to Heaven on the evening of Thursday, April 13, 2017. Vera gave her life to Christ at an early age, was baptized and served faithfully with the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the Junior Choir, Edward Martin Gospel Chorus, and Mass Choir. She also served as a Deaconess and Co-Chairperson of the Welcome Ministry.

Cherishing her memories and continuing her legacy are her devoted husband Felton C. Thompson Sr. of more than 47 years, two loving children, Chasity Quianna (Marcus) Thompson Osborn of Indianapolis, IN, and Felton C. (Shalondria) Thompson II of Montgomery, AL, a grandchild, Felton C. Thompson III, her aunt, Lillie (James) Warner of West Hempstead, New York, Siblings: Willie (Betty) Lewis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Betty (Theareha) Burt of Hope Hull, AL, Donald (Janice) Lewis, and Audrey Thomas, both of Montgomery, AL. One sibling preceded her in death, Lucille Rose. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, other relatives, godchildren and mentees.
