Mrs. Mary Lee Watts Murrell was born the second child of the late Henderson Watts and the late Meriah Willimas Watts on January 30, 1943. She received Christ at Mt. Gilliard Baptist Church. She met and married the late Lewis Huntley Murrell, Sr. on May 4, 1962. To this union eight children were born.

She worked for over 30 years with Montgomery Community Action Headstart as a volunteer, teacher, head teacher and as a disability aide. She retired in 2007 in order to take care of her beloved child Reggie. She never met a stranger and considered everyone that she met as part of her family. She ws proud to let you know that she was a Certified Head Start teacher and considered each and every one of her students to be one of her babies.
She was a member of Mt. Gilliard Baptist Church until she moved her membership to Central Baptist Church (later, Central Community Christian Chruch) in 1987. She was faithful member of Central Baptist Chruch for over 28 years and served as preschool/special needs Sunday school teacher, custodian, VBS teacher, usher and head usher until her health failed her. She took great joy in making sure that there was something to drink for the pastors on the pulpit at every service and that the Communion was prepared every first Sunday (even after she stepped down!)
