Mrs. Katie Lee Williams was born June 2, 1924 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Isabella Carter and Curtis Dickerson.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah AME Zion Church and later joined Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. As a member of Pilgrim she served diligently on the Nurse’s guild, the Usher Board and Deaconess Board until her health failed.
On August 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to the late Deacon Willie Fred Williams, Sr. and from that union three children were born.
She retired from H L Green after 30 years of serve.
On January 1, 2016, Katie entered into eternal rest to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Willie Fred Williams, Sr., and her son, Nathan Ellis Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories one loving son, Willie Fred (Arientha) Williams, Jr., one devoted daughter, Maxine (Edward) Gamble; one daughter-in-law, Clintoria L. Williams; one aunt, Ella Lee Hamilton (Maricopa, Arizona); two sisters-in-law, Juanita Williams and Carrie Williams (all of Cincinnati, Ohio); fifteen grandchildren; seven grandchildren-in-law; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; two very special friends her prayer partner Pearl Merriweather and Joann Johnson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
