James Albert Latimore was born in Birmingham, Alabama on August 20, 1920 to the parentage of Henry and Lillie (Shuford) Latimore. James was preceded in death by his wife, Mescual (Pressley) Latimore, his parents, four brothers: John Franklin, Henry, and Sylvester; and six sister, Lillie Latimore, Carrie Miles, Martha Latimore, Charity Allen, Willie Lee Vaughn, and Lela Posey.
He confessed Christ at an early and was baptized in Montgomery, Alabama. He later became a member of Holt St. Church of Christ when he married Mescual.
He received his early education at Loveless School in Montgomery, Alabama. He earned a certificate in Electronics from DeVry University formerly known as DeVry Technical Institute, Chicago, Illinois, He was proud of his membership with Abraham Lodge 267, Montgomery, Alabama.
His work experience included 18 years as a Stevedore and a Mimeographer with the Atlantic Coastline Railroad, Montgomery, Alabama a much sought after Concrete Finisher and owner of his TV and Radio repair shop.
After living a long life of happiness, faith, and very warm friendship with others, especially those who were younger and considered him a second father, he went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2015. He will always be remembered and cherished as a good and loving father, grandfather , and brother by his daughters , Jean Latimore Bray and Gwendolyn (Jonathan) of Montgomery, AL), and Abife (Hermon) Lockhart of White Plains, NY; his grandchildren, Terrilyn Ellis of Montgomery, AL, Cynthia , Ellis, M.D., of Austin, TX,
Darrick, Bradford, Sr. of Birmingham, AL, and Reginald (Sondra) Lockhart, J.D of White Plains, NY and a special granddaughter, Rosheba Webster of Hope Hull, AL; his great grandchildren, Darrick Bradford II of Montgomery, AL, Phillip, Victor, and Dexter Harris of Austin, Tx, and Layla and Sierra Lockhart of White Plains, NY; and his brother, Lamar (Onell) Latimore, Sr. of Montgomery, AL; sister-in-law, Marchisness Gipson of Hazel Park, MI and Abife Sawyer of Ellenwood, GA; and a brother-in-law, Vermon (Daisy) Pressley of Montgomey, AL. Survivors who considered and loved him as a second father, Geraldine Carter – Simmons, Alfreda Murdock.
