Rev. Dr. Amos Lewis Jr. was born February 6, 1949. He was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2015. He was the son of the late Rev. Amos Lewis Sr. and Mrs. Gennie Neal Lewis of Fort Deposit, Alabama. Rev. Dr. Lewis graduated from Calhoun High School in Letohatchee, Alabama. He then joined the United States Army in 1969. Dr. Lewis received his associate degree in Business Administration from Faulkner University, in Montgomery, Alabama, also a Bachelor of Biblical Studies, Master of Diversity and Doctorate of Divinity from Touch of Love Theological Institute. He received his Ph. D in Theology from Faulkner University.
Rev. Lewis worked at the Alabama Department of Corrections for 25 years. He later worked for Hudson Trucking Company and First Fleet Trucking Company. He received Christ at an early age at AMR Zion Church. Rev. Lewis Accepted His call to preach on August 9, 1998 under the leadership of Rev. Henry Stinson where he served until the lord called him home. During his Christian service he served faithfully as the minister for the Springhill District.
He was preceded in death by his beloved sister; Bessie Lewis and brother; Mason Lewis.
His memory will forever be cherished by his daughter; Catrina McCall, two sons; Amos Lewis III (Stephanie), and Oneal Lewis, Montgomery, AL; eight brothers and six sisters, three grandchildren; Demon Davis, Kaelin Lewis, Kadra Lewis, Montgomery, AL; a loving and mighty devoted partner Brenda Tell, a host of God children, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
