Delois J. Russell was born to the late Eddie Jackson and Mary Russell on May 4, 1951 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was the youngest of seven children. She departed this life joining in spirit her father, Eddie Jackson, mother, Mary Braswell, and brother, Clarence Allums Sr.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of North Star Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Newtown Neighborhood Association. She had a love for traveling and cruises that took her too many beautiful destinations. Her latest cruise was in September to Honduras.

Delois J. Russell leaves to cherish her many loving memories, the love of her life, son, Vanshun Traywick Sr. of Montgomery Alabama, Five grandchildren, Katrice Walker, Latasha Traywick, Sha’Marian Jackson, Vanshun Traywick Jr., and Van’Querrius Traywick all of Montgomery, one great-grand Raheim Walker, three sisters, Mattie Watkins, and Josephine Williams both of Montgomery, Luretha Daniels of East Orange NJ, two brothers, Ike (Maurice) Pugh of Compton CA,, two step-brothers, Willie James Braswell of Florida and Sylvester Braswell of Texas, two aunts, Adele Brown of Hinesville Georgia and Celia Jackson of Birmingham, Alabama, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including some special friends, Brenda Merritt, Brenda Ingram, Alice Johnson, Shirley Blanding, Martha Johnson, Marie Mahone, and Tamika Carpenter.
