Deacon Clark Johnson Sr. was born on October 10, 1922 in Lowndes County, Alabama, the oldest of two children of Mr. Wash and Mrs. Laura Johnson. He departed this life September 18, 2015. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Effie Jenkins Johnson; four children, Charles (Shirley) Johnson of Hope Hull, AL, Helen (William) July of Denver, CO; a devoted son and daughter-in-law, Clark Jr. and Debra Johnson of Hope Hull, AL; Lionel (Regina) Smith of Selma, AL; one brother, Elder George (Ethel) Johnson, Montgomery, AL; three step-children, Yolanda (William) Johnson, Rodney (Delphine) Bruce, Valeria (Edward Jr) Murray, all of Montgomery, AL; one devoted grandson, Parrish Belser; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law, Luellen Adams, Louise Hunter, Annie Pringle, Mary Gardner, Juanita Miles, Jimmie (Haygood) Wilson, Letha Jenkins; brothers-in-law, Eli Williams, Moses (Hester) Williams, James Jenkins, Theodore Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
