Ms. Beatrice Ledyard 89, was called home on January 11, 2016 from the Capital Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Montgomery, AL. Ms. Beatrice Ledyard was born October 24, 1926, the first born of proud parents of the late George W. Ledyard and the late Louberta Ledyard. She was preceded in death by one son Gilbert Ledyard and three brothers Fred Ledger, Clarence Ledyard and Nathaniel Ledyard.
She accepted Christ at an early age and served on the Usher Board for many years at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. She received her Ordination to the Ministry of the Gospel on December 13, 1995 under the leadership of the late Pastor Costella Perdue. She served God’s Purpose for her generation for several years as the Assistant Pastor at HOH Holiness church. Beatrice worked at National Linen Services, Inc. for over 30 years until her retirement in 1988.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children: Louise Ledyard and Louis Ledyard (Montgomery, AL); two brothers George Ledgyard (Cleveland, OH) and David (Rosetta) Ledyard (Montgomery, AL), three sisters Carrie L. Ellington (Cleveland, OH), Hattie M. Perdue (Wyoming, MI) and Margaret (Willie) Author (Montgomery) one daughter-in-law Melva R. Ledyard, one sister-in-law Lula M. Ledyard and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
