Mrs. Arwilda Moncrief Boswell was born on July 18, 1927, in Montgomery County to the late Mrs. Lucinda Myricks and Mr. Arther Moncrief. She was the second child of two siblings born to this union. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis James Boswell, oldest son, Arther “B” Boswell, her 4th child Mary Virginia Boswell, her 6th child Willie Edward “Bay” Boswell, and sister, Mrs. Lillian Harvey.
She accepted Christ at an early age during a Revival Service at Canaan Baptist Church where Rev. H. H. Davis of Morning Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church was the guest evangelist. She was baptized by Rev. Joe Davis, pastor of Canaan Baptist Church and later joined Morning Pilgrim where she served faithfully as vice president of Usher Board #1, co-chair and chairman of Mission Circle #3 until she became unable to serve. She was also a member of the Sons and Daughters of Cornelius.
Ms. Boswell loved and adored her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed talking to her friends over the telephone, cooking, reading the Bible, Word Search puzzles, watching the food network, her favorite soap operas, and various TV evangelists shows on Sunday. She was a God fearing, strong woman of much faith and truly loved people. The best times of her life was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Tommy G. Boswell, three daughters, Patricia A. (Deacon Willie) Holdren, Mable T. (Rev. W. Benson) Thomas, and Angela B. (Adam) Pierce, all of Montgomery, AL; daughter-in-law Anita Boswell, Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, Kenneth Timmons, Seattle, Washington, Stephen Lamont (Vernetta) Holdren, Montgomery, AL, Ashlee’ Danielle Boswell, Houston, Texas, Jason Lewis Boswell, Atlanta, Georgia, Morgan Leigh Pierce, Ridgeland, MS and Terra Leigh Pierce, Tuskegee Institute, AL, special friends Annie Radney, Eula Smith, Liddie Moss, Catherine Bailey, Idella Hatcher, Leona Pitts, Alma Mays and a host of cousins, church members and friends.
