Anthony Charles Smith was born the middle child of the late Moses Smith and the late Gladys Smith. He was born on March 1, 1954. He received Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Edward Martin at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a junior usher.

He attended George Washington Carver High and joined the army immediately out of high school where he served honorably for one tour of duty. He later attended Alabama State University.

He met and married Arie Lee Green on January 24, 1978. He was a devoted and loyal husband for 37 years of marriage. Together they raised two beautiful children. Anthony was a hard worker and always took care of home and family.

Anthony was intelligent and versatile. He was witty, humorous, and very outspoken. He had an unforgettable personality. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his feisty daughter, Charlisa Tonette Smith, his loving mother, Gladys Smith-Bellmon, his two brothers Steven and Moses Smith Jr., and his loyal nephew Antwan Smith.

Forever cherishing his memory is his devoted wife, Arie Smith, his daughter, Patrice (Terrell) Griffin, grandson Jamarcus Green, and granddaughter Chardell James, and great grand-daughter Miracle Moses all of Montgomery, Alabama. An aunt who supported him and whom he loved dearly, Antoinette (Al) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois. His mother-in-law, Shirley Green; brothers and sisters-in-law Gloria Wallace, Robin (Marvin) Player, Trevin Green all of Sylacauga, Alabama; Priscilla Smith, a special sister-in-law and friend Susie Smith of Montgomery, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
