Pastor Adlene Marie Abstain was born July 1, 1943 to the late Frankie Howard and Ruthie Mae (Moses) Smiley in Bullock County, AL. Adlene was also raised by Roosevelt (Daddy) Smiley Sr. and Ella Lois Howard. She accepted Christ at an early age at Weeping Willow Baptist Church. She attended Booker T. Washington High School and Simmons (Lowes Bible) College in Montgomery, Alabama. She departed her life August 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by two brother, Frank Howard and Richard Smiley.

Pastor Abstain began preaching in 1995 and was Ordained and Appointed to Zion Star in 1998. Pastor Abstain has received many awards and citations from agencies and organization including the “Key to the City” by Louisville Board of Alderman.
